Nurses Oath taking ( step by step guide )

Like any other Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) passers, I also gone thru a lot of suspense, drama, victorious celebrations and never ending "congratulation greetings". I was and still the only nurse in the family. Other family members are in other professions. So, I have no one to ask for the next and next and next step  questions that comes to my mind.

When I had experienced what I have gone thru, I decided to share it with others. I just realized that i was helping but to a limited number of aspiring nurses and nurses as well. And not to mention the over and over again typing of answers to their quiries. I am not connected with PRC. I may now be a member of PNA but I am not a spokes person to answer every quiery on their behalf. I am just sharing my experience and hoping that these experiences encoded for online viewing will help you even on its humble ways

After you have read over the Professional Regulatory Commissions' website that your name is listed as one of the fortunate nursing board examinees who passed the exam; and after all the breath taking moments while your scrolling down the mouse cursor to look for your surname and atlast seeing your name printed followed by your middle name; the next question is what will happen next? What you should do next?

The answer:

1. There will be an oathtaking ceremony so, you should buy a ticket for you and your guest(s).

2. You have already passed the examination and entitled as "professional". So, you should first register to the Philippine Regulatory Commission to have it validated and make it formal.

On this page i have listed the step by step procedure on how to obtain a ticket for the oathtaking

REQUIREMENTS

1. IDENTIFICATION CARD (ID) - school ID, NBI, driver's license, passport, company ID, etc.

2. PRIORITY SLIP- log on to www.nurseoathtaking.net fill up the form with you personal information. Be sure to encode accurate information the print out the priority slip. REMEMBER: NO priority slip No ticket

3. NOTICE OF ADMISSION (NOA) or PRC VERIFICATION RATING- NOA is the paper where in your proctor affix his or her signature after you have taken each of your examination. PRC Examination Rating can be accessed online and be printed. Log on to www.prc.gov.ph/_ratingverification_menu.asp look for NURSE. click passed. Make sure you have you have your application number with you because it is one of the information that you have to encode inorder to view and print your OVR.

STEP BY STEP TO OBTAIN OATHTAKING TICKETS

After searching for IDs, printing your priority slip and locating your "almost lost" NOA, check for your school's oath taking date. It is announced by the PRC long way before the first date of releasing the tickets, so you have enough time to check for it.

1. Make sure the your requirements are complete. Bring a pen. Go to the Philippine Nurses Association Office located at 1663 F.T. Benitez Street, Malate, Manila.

2. Show you priority slip to the security guard on duty. He or she will give you a nurse's membership form and other reminder notes. It depends on you if you would want to be a member or not. Fill up the form if you want to or disregard if not.

3. Go to the Checking desk. Show your priority slip, ID and NOA or OVR. They will ask you for your the date and session time of your oath taking so, be sure to check for it. They will give you a card indicating where and what desk to go next.

4. Pay for the ticket of inductee and guest(s) P350 per inductee and P200 per guest.

5. (IF YOU WANT TO BE A PNA MEMBER) Pay P400 and submit the accomplished membership form.

Now your ready to go and wait for your oath taking ceremony!

Congratulations our new dear nurses! :D
